Charged: Chemical Endangerment of a Child

According to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin, two Etowah County women have been arrested for chemical endangerment of a child.   Authorities charged Krystle Peppers and Cierra Blackwood, both of Gadsden with one  count of chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed. Peppers and Blackwood are both pregnant.  Authorities say the women admitted to using drugs after they were arrested for theft by the Attalla Police Department.  Peppers tested positive for amphetamines.  Blackwood tested positive for amphetamines and methamphetamine. Both women have been sent to receive treatment.
