Charged: Possession of a Forged Instrument

According to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin, an Etowah County woman has been arrested and charged for passing more than $1,600 in forged checks.  Officials state that, Sommer Carter, of Hokes Bluff, is charged with one count of third degree burglary and five counts of possession of a forged instrument, all are felonies.  Carter allegedly stole a check book from a relative’s residence and passed the forged checks at a local convenience store in Hokes Bluff.  She is also currently on Community Corrections.  She is being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $15,000 property bond.
