A Gadsden woman is in custody for stealing water without paying for the service, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

The Etowah County Investigator states, Pamela Slay Gewalt, of Gadsden, is charged with one count of first degree theft of services, which is a felony.

Gewalt is accused of stealing more than $4,100 worth of water from the Highland Water Authority over the past two years.
