The waters of the Coosa River in Gadsden will be teeming with dragons this weekend – at least with Dragon Boats! Habitat for Humanity’s 3rd Annual Dragon Boat Festival is set for Saturday and teams have already been on the water practicing for the big event. 34 boat teams – each with 24 participants will compete in the Dragon Boat races with a chance to win the coveted *Golden Paddle* and with a guarantee of raising lots of money for Habitat. Habitat Board President Suzanne Scharfenberg says that the day will be filled with fun for the paddlers *and* for spectators. The Dragon Boat Festival will take place this Saturday on the Coosa River along the Riverwalk Boardwalk in Gadsden. All money raised will help Habitat continue their ministry of building affordable housing in the Etowah County community.
