JSU Finds Depth at Safety

The anticipation for the season opener is building every day at Jacksonville State. The Gamecocks are switching their focus from typical fall camp practice to preparation for opponents.

One of the biggest questions heading into practice was at safety. JSU lost both starters from last season including Pierre Warren who left school a year early for the NFL & where he currently plays for the Saints. But Coach Grass says the departures have been opportunities for guys like Folo Johnson, Santavious Oden and Southern Miss transfer DeBarrius Miller.

The Gamecocks will practice again Tuesday then take Wednesday off for the start of classes. They’ll hold their 3rd and final team scrimmage on Saturday before the season-opener at Michigan State August 29th.
