Volunteers from more than 27 agencies from Calhoun County, Cleburne County, and Randolph County attended the kickoff event. According to the agency’s Interim Director, Shannon Jenkins, United Way is hoping that funds raised over the campaign period will help sustain its educational programs, programs for children and the elderly, and the additional resource services it provides people in the region. The annual campaign will last through November 19th. This year’s Campaign Chair Christianne Houston says the agency is a fundamental community organization that will benefit from the new campaign goal. United Way of East Central Alabama’s Board Chair, Tommie Goggans says the agency is truly unique and they hope to reach the community with this important fundraising platform. You can give anytime throughout the year to the United Way. You can give an individual gift or use a payroll deduction. For more information visit their website at www.uweca.org.
