Anniston Citizen’s Advisory Council Vote Passes

Tuesday, August 26, 2014

The vote by the Anniston City Council to bring about a Citizen’s Advisory Council for its community passes, tonight. The advisory council has been in the works for more than two months.  Its purpose is to bridge the gap between the community and the police department.  Anniston Police Chief Shane Denham says the group would work with the police department to learn about their profession and to exchange information.  Denham adds that the police department does not always know what the community wants. Denham says he will offer those appointed to the council citizen ride-alongs and will expose them to department scenarios.
