Charged: Murder & Second Degree Assault

U-S Marshals and state detectives capture the suspect in a stabbing death that happened yesterday in Gadsden.

According to Gadsden Police Department Captain Bobby Jackson, William McKinney is charged with Murder and Second Degree Assault in the stabbing death of Amos Jackson. Authorities say McKinney confronted and attacked Jackson at a Gadsden residence. Jackson had driven to the residence to give McKinney’s ex-girlfriend a ride to work. Police say that McKinney stabbed Jackson multiple times in his torso. When officers arrived , they discovered Jackson on the ground beside his vehicle and McKinney had fled the scene.

Jackson was taken to Gadsden Regional Medical Center where he died.

Detectives caught up with McKinney last night in Birmingham. He was brought back to Gadsden where he’s being held in the Etowah County Detention Center.
