Neely Henry Drawdown

Property owners on Neely Henry Lake will get an opportunity to perform some maintenance and construction along their shoreline this fall. Alabama Power has announced that they will reduce the water level in Neely Henry Lake by about four feet in early October. The planned two-week drawdown will give residents and contractors better lake-bed and shoreline access to perform construction and maintenance projects *and* will allow Alabama Power biologists to survey mussel and fish populations in the lower Big Canoe Creek. Residents who are planning projects during the drawdown are reminded that you *must* apply for a lakeshore-use permit from the utility as soon as possible.
