Chemical Endangerment of a Child

Authorities arrest three Etowah County women for chemical endangerment of a child. Ashton Wood and Keely McCain both of Attalla and Jessica Abner of Gadsden are all charged with one count of chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed, which is a felony. Authorities say Wood and her baby both tested positive for amphetamines following the baby’s birth. Her bond is set at $10,000. Abner and her baby both tested positive for cocaine. Her bond is set at $10,000. According to a press release, Keeley McCain, admitted to using and tested positive for crystal methamphetamine during her pregnancy. Her bond is set at $5,000.
