JSU Preps For No. 13 UT-Chattanooga

After facing a top ten team on the FBS level, the Jacksonville State football team has another tough battle against a ranked FCS opponent.

The Gamecocks played well in spurts last Friday night in their season opener at Michigan State, but they know there is room for improvement. The Gamecocks threw for over 200 yards against the Spartans, but also gave up 354 yards passing. Head coach John Grass says the 45-7 loss to a national title contender will help them as they prep for Chattanoog.

The Mocs rank 13th in the FCS poll, so not only is this a rivalry game for JSU but also a nice benchmark to see how they fair against a top opponent on their level. The Gamecocks are ranked No. 9 in the newest FCS polls. JSU and Chattanooga hook up Saturday night at 5:00 in Tennessee.
