Charged: 1 Count of First Degree Extortion

Authorities arrest a second suspect in an Oxford extortion case.  Scottsboro police arrested Mariam Shultz yesterday.  She was transported to the Oxford City Jail where she was released on bail.  Authorities conducted an undercover investigation involving Everett Stout and Shultz.  Stout and Shultz are accused of attempting to extort millions of dollars from high dollar businesses in our region by making false liens against the properties.  According to Oxford Police Chief Bill Partridge, Shultz is charged with 1 count of First Degree Extortion, 13 counts of Attempted Extortion, and 1 count of Theft of Property.
