Residents and contractors will soon have better lakebed access for permitted construction projects at Lake Neely Henry. Alabama Power has set tentative dates of October 3rd through the 6th for a water-level drawdown. Residents can call the Neely Henry Shoreline Management Office in Ragland to apply for a lakeshore use permit before they begin construction. Alabama Power biologists will also use the gradual lowering to survey mussel and fish populations in lower Big Canoe Creek. Weather conditions can affect the drawdown schedule, so residents and contractors are encouraged to visit Alabama Power’s automated Reservoir Information System at 1-800-LAKES11.
