Mercedes-Benz Expands Local Production

Mercedes-Benz sees good prospects in the US market and is expanding their local production capacities in the country. Officials say that’s good news for their Vance Plant. The company is expanding its capacities in the Mercedes-Benz plant in Tuscaloosa with another increase in production volume coming up next year. There will be an additional SUV model rolling off the production line in Tuscaloosa. The new C-Class rolled off the line in Tuscaloosa for the first time in June. Officials say, the Mercedes-Benz plant in Tuscaloosa plays an important role in the global production network for the new C-Class. Intensive training has been provided for more than a hundred employees from Tuscaloosa. Mercedes-Benz has created 3,400 direct new jobs in Tuscaloosa. Since 1993, Mercedes-Benz has invested more than $4 billion US dollars – including $2.4 billion for the current expansion phase from 2010 to 2015.
