Health Spending Growth Projections

Saturday, September 13, 2014

A new report from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services says that Health spending growth is expected to pick up in 2014 through 2023 as a result of the combined effects of the Affordable Care Act's coverage expansions, faster economic growth, and population aging, according to a new report from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Officials say that in 2014 C-M-S predicts the overall health spending growth rate will rise to 5.6% and to an average 6.0% per year for the period 2015-2023. This estimate is consistent with last year's CMS report, which projected an average 5.8% annual rate of growth for 2012-2022.
