Two Students Caught Using Spice

Two Crossville High School students experiment with synthetic marijuana in school and end up with charges from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. According to authorities, today, a 15-year-old student brought spice to the high school campus. The 15-year-old and a 16-year-old smoked the spice. The 16 year old had a medical reaction to the spice and went to the School Resource Officer Rene Ramos, at which time the Ambulance was called and the 16 year old was transported to Marshall Medical Center South where he was treated and released. The 15 year old was charged with Unlawful Distribution of Controlled Substance and Tampering with Evidence, the 16 year old was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Public Intoxication. Both were transported by DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office to the Juvenile Probation Office in Fort Payne. The Drug Task Force assisted Ramos on this case. The incident is still under investigation.
