Small businesses create three-fourths of all jobs in Alabama. And that's why Alabama Governor Robert Bentley says he signed an executive order today creating the Alabama Small Business Commission. Bentley also appointed Rosemary Elebash to lead it. Elebash is the Alabama director for the National Federation of Independent Business. Lt. Governor Kay Ivey, House Speaker Mike Hubbard and Senate President Pro Tem Del Marsh will also make appointments to the commission. He says the purpose of the ASBC will be strictly to advise entrepreneurs. During his 2010 election campaign, Bentley promised to create a Cabinet-level position to help small businesses. He says the commission will make recommendations to present to the Legislature in 2015 and 2016.
