Third Degree Domestic Violence
A 19-year-old Rainbow City Man is in the Etowah County Detention Center for accusations that he made terrorist threats against officers involved in his arrest, Sunday night. Gadsden City Police Captain Bobby Jackson says Rodney Watts was arrested for third-degree domestic violence, interfering with a domestic violence emergency, third-degree criminal trespassing, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and obstructing governmental operations . Jackson says when officers were transporting Watts to the detention center he is believed to have told one officer that he knew where he lived and said he was going to pay a visit to see how the officer’s wife and children were. If they were O-K, Watts threatened they wouldn’t be for long. Officials add Watts is accused of making the same threats toward five other officers in the area, and continuing to make threats until he was taken to the booking area by Etowah County jailers. Following Sunday’s incident, six officers made reports accusing Watts of making terrorist threats, a Class C felony.
