Cherokee County authorities have arrested three men who are accused of growing marijuana.
Kenneth Mackey, James Wainwright, and Jerry Walker are charged with possession of marijuana. Deputies worked with the Alabama Forestry Commission to conduct surveillance of the suspected marijuana patch near Highway 273 in Leesburg. Investigators say they arrested the men after watching them tend to the pot plants. According to a press release, Mackey also had a stolen truck and A.T.V. He's also charged with receiving stolen property.
