The Calhoun County office of The Alabama Cooperative Extension System invites everyone out for a day loaded with fun. Officials are calling it a down-home, old, country fair. They’ll be lots of homemade edible treats and crafts and livestock shows where the 4-H Kids will present their chickens. Calhoun County Extension Coordinator, David West, says the fall fest is taking place about a month earlier. Admission is $1. And, you can get in free if you are a child under 10-years-old or you wear your best garden hat or scarecrow costume. The fair will also host a canning contest and an arts and crafts contest. If you would like to enter one of the contests or be a vendor, call the Calhoun County Extension Office at 256-237-1621 or like the Fall Fest 2014 Facebook page for more information.
