The CDC also reminds the public that it’s time to think about getting the flu vaccination.  The agency recommends getting your flu shot now because it begins to work about two weeks after the vaccination.  And they say flu season may begin as early as October.  Although the flu is impossible to predict, the agency says prevention is key.  The C-D-C urges vaccines for every American older than 6 months.   They also recommend people who are 65 and over get a two-dose series of a new vaccine, followed by another vaccine six months later.  According to C-D-C officials, 150 million doses of vaccine will be released to the marketplace.
