The new playground at Weaver Elwell Park is a buzz with activity as construction workers put the finishing touches on the equipment. Mayor Willis says the city has also tackled the problem of the conditions of restrooms at the park. He says they used to have a lot of complaints. But, now the restrooms are no longer run-down. He adds that another attraction for the park is the height of the new slide at the playground. Willis says Weaver wanted to incorporate Chief Ladiga Trail and make Weaver a destination point instead of just a city to pass through. He says that is why it has been so important for the city to clear out the underbrush in the area. Weaver Elwell Park will host Weaver’s Heritage Day Arts and Crafts Show on Saturday.
