The Calhoun County Commission has passed a $40 million balanced budget for the 2014-2015 Fiscal Year. They approved the budget at today’s meeting. Although, officials say county revenues are down and there have only been small revenue increases throughout the year, they estimate the county will be able to absorb most of current fiscal increases. Calhoun County Assistant County Administrator, Melissia Wood says the anticipated general fund revenues are up. The Calhoun County Commission was unable to give employees a cost of living raise this year. And, they add that most departments did not get every request. But, they say the budget is solid and it meets the County’s needs. The budget goes into effect October 1.
