A woman admits to stealing flowers from a street and is charged with theft. 74-year-old Nita Franklin of Centre was arrested on Tuesday after she admitted to being the one who stole flowers from planters along the street in Lyerly.  The flowers were donated by the Lyerly Civic Club.  Some residents even put up a $250 reward for information on the flower thief.  Surveillance cameras at TJ’s Liquor Store caught the woman stealing the flowers.  On Tuesday, Franklin admitted to Chattooga County Sheriff’s Investigators that she had stolen the flowers.  The flowers had been turning up missing for several weeks, but Franklin only admitted to taking the flowers on one occasion.  She was released on bond after being charged with one count of theft by taking.
