Anniston High School Band Ranks Superior

It is Homecoming Week for Anniston High School. And their marching band is poised to take on the high-stepping, hand-clapping, and awe-inspiring festivities after scoring superior ratings in two band competitions. Anniston High School Band earned all 1 Superior ratings at the Mid-South Marching Band Festival in Gadsden on Saturday. And, straight superior ratings, best in class dance, best in class color guard, best in class band, and best in division at the Dixie Jubilee Jam in Weaver, also on Saturday. Anniston High School Band Director, Ruben Mitchell, says the students were super-excited.

The band brought home a total of 16 trophies. Mitchell says the band sets a goal of 20 trophies every year.

They are planning to attend the Central Alabama Band Competition in Selma and are contemplating attending the Pell City Band Competition.
