Stinger Metric Bike Ride

With the increasing popularity of bicycle riding here in the East Alabama Community, organizers are again expecting hundreds of riders to participate in the 3rd Annual Glencoe Stinger Metric Bike Ride. The ride is set for Saturday, October 11 with Glencoe High School planned as the starting point. Proceeds from this year’s ride will benefit Etowah County’s Thirteenth Place home for children and the Glencoe Summer Food Program. As always, the ride will feature three different routes for the bike riders to choose from. Participants can choose to ride the 12-mile route, the 32-mile route or – for those who *really* like a challenge – the 62-mile route. Ride organizers emphasize that the ride is *not* a race, but simply a fun day of riding for bike enthusiasts. The Stinger Metric Bike Ride will begin at 8am on October 11th. Non-riders are invited to join the fun as well with special activities going on throughout the day at the start/finish line. Online registration is open now at only $30 per person. You can register online and get more information at www.stingermetricride.com.
