Gadsden City District Five Run off

Voters in Gadsden’s City Council District Five headed to the polls today to select their representative on the Gadsden City Council.  The District Five race is the only race that ended in a runoff back in August’s municipal election.  In the August election, incumbent Bill Stewart received 39.3 percent of the district’s votes and challenger Billy Billingsley Sr. received 42.4 percent.  Gloria Allenstein finished third in that race with 18.3 percent.  Gadsden’s District Five covers the city’s downtown area and part of South Gadsden
