The City of Anniston and the RMC Board reached an agreement today to mediate legal issues surrounding the lawsuit RCM filed against the City last week. In a statement from City of Anniston Public Information Officer Aziza Jackson, R-M-C says that as part of that agreement, they agree to a dismissal of its challenge to the City’s appointment of City Manager Brian Johnson to the board. All other issues remaining in R-M-C’s lawsuit will be addressed in mediation. Calhoun County Presiding Judge Brian Howell entered an order this afternoon dissolving the temporary restraining order and outlining the parties’ agreement. Judge Howell’s order negates the need for the hearing scheduled for tomorrow. Any issues not resolved in mediation will be considered by the Court on December 9.
