Animal Cruelty

Just after midnight today, a local resident awoke to gunfire outside of their home, and their dog – a White Pitt Bull - yelping in pain. The incident occurred on the 600 block of Jewell Street. Anniston Police Department Captain Allen George says the dog suffered two gunshot wounds to the abdomen. Officers also found where one round had penetrated a bedroom window of the residence. The dog was transported to Anniston Animal Medical Center, where it was treated, but later died. Anniston Police Investigators and Crime Lab are working the case.
