The Wizard of Oz

Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion have all made their way to Gadsden for the Characters Entertainment production of The Wizard of Oz. The stage production of the classic movie opened this weekend at Wallace Hall in Gadsden and did not disappoint the full house of fans who gathered for the first two nights of the opening weekend. The production follows the adventures of Dorothy Gayle as she is seemingly swept away from her home in Kansas to the Land of the Munchkins and to the Emerald City of Oz. Director Cody Carlton says that the cast is receiving rave reviews. The show features a cast of dozens and even includes live music and some surprising special effects. The Wizard of Oz will run for one more weekend at Wallace Hall in Gadsden. Shows are scheduled for this coming Friday andSaturday at 7:30PM with an afternoon matinee set for Sunday at 2:30PM. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors, students and children. Tickets can be purchased in advance online at, or at the Center For Cultural Arts in Downtown Gadsden. Tickets can also be purchased at the Wallace Hall Box Office starting one hour prior to showtime.
