Talladega Superspeedway Race Weekend

Race weekend is a big weekend for the state of Alabama. Our region becomes full with visitors from all over the nation. Race fans say it is about having a good time. Talladega Superspeedway fan Tony of Dawsonville, Georgia who arrived at the North campground earlier today says he like to get set up and stay in one place until Sunday. Tony says it is a great place to come. Calhoun County greatly benefits from all of the race weekend traffic. And, according to Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Matthew Wade, the goal is to make sure everybody enjoys themselves but also stays safe. So, he says they will have officers on duty. This weekend brings the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series to Talladega Superspeedway. The Sprint Cup Series GEICO 500 is on Sunday, October 19. The Camping World Truck Series Fred’s 250 powered by Coca-Cola is on Saturday, October 18.
