The 30th Annual Business Expo and Taste of Calhoun County took place today at the Anniston City Meeting Center. The Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce brought together local restaurants and local businesses to showcase what they do for the community. Expo attendees say it gives good recognition to area businesses in a fun environment. Buster Miles Chevrolet General Manager Hope Miles Downey was the perfect picture of how one enjoys the Expo. She donned a monkey balloon hat created by “Big Sam the Balloon Man” and talked proudly about how her father began his business. Attendees mingled with more than 100 exhibitors, businesses and organizations and also sampled the foods of the Taste of Calhoun County. The Peerless Saloon and Grille who won the 2014 Official Taste of Calhoun County Best Lunch was excited about their win. Saloon Co-owner and General Manager Kristy Farmer says today’s event helps to build the community. Chairman of the Expo Board Bridgette Magourirk, says each year gets bigger and better. The Expo welcomed people from Gadsden, Talladega, and other surrounding counties.
