OVC Basketball Media Day: JSU Men & Women

The basketball season is right around the corner and today the head coaches in the OVC met in Nashville for media day. There's no doubting the biggest surprise of last season was the JSU women's team who won 14 games and made it to the semifinals of the OVC Tournament in head coach Rick Pietri’s first season. On Tuesday, the Gamecocks were picked to finish third in the league- just two years removed from a 1-27 record.

The men are projected to finish fifth out of six teams in the Eastern Division. Head coach James Green lost some key players but has a lot of experience coming back mixed in with talented newcomers. Green says he is looking forward to watching this team grow.

The men get started with a home exhibition game against William Carey on November 4th. The women host Birmingham Southern on November 8th.
