The Alabama Department of Public Health and the Gadsden-Etowah County EMA are teaming up for a community flu shot clinic tomorrow. The 5th annual drive-thru flu shot clinic will be held at North Glencoe Baptist Church on Hwy 431 in Glencoe. The drive-thru clinic is a fast and convenient way to get your annual vaccination. The ADPH Influenza Surveillance website says that Alabama is only seeing sporadic reports of the flu so far this season, but notes that the flu usually peaks in December of January. Bush says that it takes about two weeks for the vaccine to become totally active and that it is important that everyone be vaccinated. Tomorrow’s drive-thru clinic will be open from 7am until 5pm. The cost is $15 per shot unless you have Medicare or Medicaid. Payment will be accepted by cash or check only.
