Health Fair and Fall Festival

The Calhoun County Career Technical Center in Jacksonville hosts an annual pre-school health fair and Fall Festival, today. The students combined carnival games with educational activities. The school’s Medical Prep Instructor Krista Young says the school coordinated with the Child Care program to make the day a success. There was also a dental booth with donated toothbrushes for the children to take home. Saks High School Senior Samantha Hodge said today’s activities will help prepare her for dealing with children when she enters the medical field. She says the career technical center is a great place to learn. Wellborn High School Senior Brandilyn Bizell says she’s been in the Med Prep program for 3 years and one of the things she likes about today’s festival is teaching the kids about First Aid. The center provides hands-on, career-focused training to students from the seven high schools in the Calhoun County School System.
