Children Matter in Etowah County

A statewide organization that strives to prevent child abuse and strengthen families

presents 5 local Etowah County agencies with a check for $198,000. Children Matter in Etowah County held a short program and check presentation at the Robert W. Echols Jr. Center Family Success Center in Gadsden, today. The Alabama Department of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention which is also known as the Children’s Trust Fund of Alabama says it’s a delight to give. The Family Success Center, the United Way Success By 6, the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Alabama, Gadsden State Community College, and Thirteenth Place are all grantees. Big Brothers and Big Sisters Executive Director Valerie Shannon says it is a great honor. The Children’s Trust Fund of Alabama distributes the grant funding once a year.
