Theft & Prison Contraband Arrest

According to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office A Boaz man helped an Etowah County  jail inmate obtain illegal drugs.  Sheriff Todd Entrekin says that Etowah County maintenance employee has also been linked to the theft of county property. Steven Howard is charged with one count of first degree theft of property and one count of second degree promoting prison contraband.  Both charges are felonies.  According to Sheriff Entrekin, Howard confessed he assisted a county inmate obtain illegal drugs, on two separate occasions, while under his supervision. Howard also admitted to investigators that he took and sold an old control panel worth about $3,500.  Howard is now free after posting bond.
