The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Deputy that was struck by a vehicle while he was directing traffic at a wreck on Monday had an operation on both of his legs yesterday. The accident took place on Highway 431 and Bynum-Leatherwood Road in Anniston. The Deputy was seriously injured. Calhoun County Sheriff Larry Amerson says since the accident investigators have recreated the scene of the incident for further examination. He says the Deputy is recovering at U-A-B Hospital and he is already looking forward to getting back to work.The Deputy’s wife has needed assistance during the expected long hospital stay with expenses. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office setup an account where concerned residents can give. The account has raised $2,280 of a $5,000 goal. There are 15 days left to give.
