Halloween Costume Contest

A great big Halloween party with plenty of frightful, fanciful, and fun costumes took place at the Calhoun County Administration Building. Calhoun County Commissioner J.D. Hess and his staff came up with the idea and recruited judges from the Jacksonville State University Softball Team. Head Softball Coach Jana McGinnis, and her two Assistant Coaches Julie Boland and Mark Wisener say the day was full of creativity and cooperation. Calhoun County G-I-S Manager Robert Scheitlin whose costume was GRU from the animated Despicable Me film says he and his Minions enjoyed the group participation. District 4 Calhoun County Commissioner J-D Hess says he is always impressed with the costumes. He says the employees take it to a new level every year. Winners included Dorothy and the Wicked Witch who took First Place in the group competition. And Forrest Gump who placed in the individual.
