Veterans Day Ceremony

The Anniston Army depot commemorates Veterans Day, today.

Today’s ceremony at the installation’s Physical Fitness Center honored the 774 Veterans employed at Anniston Army Depot The veterans make up one-fifth of the workforce at the Depot. Munitions Center Commander Lieutenant Colonel Wendell Moore says the veterans have dedicated their lives to serving the Department of Defense. He says you really can’t put his appreciation into words. Ceremony participants included the Jacksonville State University Reserve Officer Training Corps, the Gadsden High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps and several Anniston Army Depot Veterans. U-S Army veteran Lavon Stephens - who attended today’s ceremony- says his love for his country encouraged his volunteerism. Jacksonville State University R-O-T-C member Jacob Wilson says serving in the armed forces has been in his family for generations. He says his gratitude runs deep. The featured speaker at the event was Anniston Army Munitions Center Commander Lieutenant Colonel Shayne Moore.
