The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with CVS, and the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids now has a drug collection unit for disposal of medications that are expired or no longer needed. The unit is located in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office and is accessible to the public during regular office hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Simply walk in with your medications, open the drawer and drop them in.   Items that are not accepted include thermometers, hydrogen peroxide, needles, aerosol cans, ointments, creams, liquids, inhalers or medications from businesses or clinics.
