Stolen Fire Truck in Cherokee County

Someone unlawfully entered the Gaylesville Fire Department over the weekend and stole a 2000 Ford F250 brush truck.

Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver says the truck was discovered abandoned on Sunday by a property owner in a field in Gaylesville. Deputies responded to the Fire Department and the location of the brush truck to process it for fingerprints. A stolen chainsaw and fire radio were also recovered. Some other items stolen during the burglary are still missing, including a Honda generator, 2 Husky chainsaws, 2 Husky backpack blowers, and flashlights. Sheriff Shaver encourages anyone with information about the burglary or the missing items to please contact the Sheriff’s Office.
