Veterans Day Walk

An Etowah County veteran who was heartbroken when the city of Gadsden cancelled the annual Veterans Parade puts together his own Veterans Day Walk to honor those from Etowah County who have served. American Veteran Ottie Noble wanted to do something big to show that he cares for the service and sacrifice of America’s military men and women. So, he organized a walk that retraced the steps he took when entering the Armed Forces. He posted his plans to his Facebook page and encouraged his community to take part. ) The walk began at the Federal Building in Gadsden and ended at the old bus station behind the old Sears building. Noble thought it would be a small but significant contribution to acknowledge the day Walk participants say they represent a long history of military service in the Gadsden area. Hundreds of supporters- both civilian and military – turned out to participate.
