Assault on Two People

Etowah County authorities arrest a Gadsden man for assaulting two people. 35-year-old Michael Brown of Gadsden has been charged with one count of first degree assault and one count of second degree assault. Sheriff’s deputies and Hokes Bluff police officers responded, Monday evening, to an apparent fight at a residence located on Croft Ferry Road. They found a significant amount of blood outside the residence and slit tires on a nearby truck. Brown was taken into custody after officers discovered he was wanted for a warrant in Rainbow City. He then admitted to officers that he was involved in a fight at the residence and had cut a man with a utility knife. Two victims were found down the road from the incident scene. A man was flown by helicopter to a Birmingham hospital with multiple stab wounds and a woman was taken to a local hospital by ambulance. Both victims stated they were trying to leave the residence when Brown began arguing and cutting the man. The woman attempted to break up the fight when she was cut. Brown is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center with $9,500 bond.
