Delay On Ethics Trial: House Speaker Mike Hubbard

A judge has agreed to delay the ethics trial for Alabama House Speaker Mike Hubbard. Hubbard's trial has been pushed back from December 8 until sometime in 2015. Lee County Circuit Judge Jacob Walker will meet with prosecutors and defense lawyers on January 7 to talk about a timeline for the case. Last month, a grand jury indicted Hubbard on 23 felony ethics charges. The indictment accuses Hubbard of using his public office to obtain work for his private companies. The Republican, who is from Auburn, has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
