Heflin Police Department Moving Into New Building

One police department is renovating a building, with hopes to move into it before Christmas. Heflin Police Department’s Chief A.J. Benefield promised larger quarters for his officers in August 2013 as soon as he was appointed. And now, the department is working on a building owned by the Cleburne County Hospital Board. Chief Benefield says the old Cleburne Quality of Life building will be the new quarters for the police department. Benefield says officers are doing a lot of the work. He appreciates the donations from the Heflin Police Foundation, community donors, and BB&T who donated the flagpole. They plan to be in the new location by December 1.
