Calhoun County Jail Holds a Thanksgiving Meal

Last night, the Calhoun County Jail served up a Thanksgiving meal for its inmates.Calhoun County Sheriff Larry Amerson said he appreciates the efforts of the honest, ordinary people who take care to feed their fellow man.his is the fourth year the jail ministry has sponsored the meal. They fed more than 400 inmates and also fed the jail staff and deputies. Jail Ministry volunteer Cindy Smith says she believes they get more out of the experience than the inmates do.The jail ministry is staffed by a full time Chaplain. The churches and people of Calhoun County pay for that service.
