Regional Medical Center and the city of Anniston meet to reach an agreement about R-M-C's lawsuit against the city. In October, the council decided to remove Greg Kernion from his seat and appoint city manager Brian Johnson and Anniston resident Paula Watkins to the board. R-M-C and the city of Anniston disagree over how much information the hospital is required to provide the public and the status of R-M-Cs board.
The two organizations entered an executive private session, tonight at the council meeting and worked to decide if a judge is required to overturn the council's October decision. After the session, Anniston Mayor Vaughn Stewart announced that the council has approved a statement of intent to resolve their litigation with R-M-C. The council expects an agreement by midnight. An agreement must be reached by December 9.
