Christmas Tree Lighting
Governor Robert Bentley joins members of the Garden Club of Alabama to officially light the State's Christmas tree during a ceremony this evening at the State Capitol.
The Christmas tree, located at the top of the State Capitol's main entrance along Dexter Avenue, is a 38-foot Eastern Red Cedar grown in Bullock County and has approximately 40,000 L-E-D lights on it. The tree was donated by Ray Allen, owner of Feathers Plantation in Fitzpatrick. The theme of the Christmas tree lighting ceremony was "Every Light a Prayer for Peace."
