Orion Test Flight Successful: NASA
NASA’s Orion capsule splashed down in the Pacific Ocean today after its first, unmanned, two orbit test flight. It came down about 300 miles off the coast of Baja, California. Some are calling this the next generation of space travel. The capsule is designed to take astronauts deep into space and eventually even as far as mars. Alabama can take credit for the delta rocket behind Orion’s launch. It was developed at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville and built at a facility in Decatur and experts call it the largest and most powerful rocket in the country.
